How to download songs or albums on Google Play Music

Download and save the songs on your Google Play Music app to listen to them later without using the internet. Although without subscribing to Play Music, you can’t download the songs directly to your device, you can only save the tracks in the app. After subscribing, you can download the songs to your device also. Here is how to download the songs on Google Play Music.

How to download songs on Play Music on Android
1.    Open the ‘Play Music’ app.
2.    Tap the ‘Hamburger’ icon at the left top side.
3.    Tap ‘Music library’ from the menu.
4.    Select a category (PLAYLISTS, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, SONGS, etc.) from the top.
5.    Select the track you want to download.
6.    Tap the ‘Download’ icon of the item to download.
7.    Or tap the ‘Vertical dotted’ icon and select ‘Download’ from the list.
The song will download. If you didn’t get the download option, then maybe the song is not available to download without the subscription. To download the song you may need to subscribe to Play Music.
How to download your subscription music
The Play Music subscribers can download their subscription playlists, albums, songs, and radio stations. You can listen to the downloaded tracks even offline, till the expiry of your subscription. Here is how to download music to listen offline.
1.    Open the ‘Play Music’ app.
2.    Tap the ‘Hamburger’ icon at the left top side.
3.    Tap ‘Music library’ from the menu.
4.    Select a category (PLAYLISTS, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, SONGS, etc.) from the top.
5.    Select the track you want to download.
6.    Tap the ‘Vertical dotted’ icon.
7.    Select ‘Download.’
How to download songs on Play Music on PC or Mac
You can download music on a computer also by using a web browser.  On Safari, Firefox, or Internet Explorer you can download the same song only two times. While on Chrome’s Google Play Music or Music Manager, you can download a song unlimited times on your computer. Here are some different and simple ways for you to download the songs.
Downloading songs or albums using the web player
1.    Open the ‘Google Play music web player.’
2.    Open ‘Menu.’
3.    Go to the ‘Library.’
4.    Click the ‘Songs’ or ‘Albums.’
5.    Hover the mouse pointer over a song or album to download it.
6.    Click the ‘More’ icon.
7.    And click ‘Download/Download album.’
Download the songs with Music Manager
Steps to download and install Music Manager on your computer:
1.    Open a browser.
2.    Go to “play.google.com/music/listen?u=0#/manager”.
3.    On the downloading page on Music Manager, scroll to the bottom.
4.    Click the large orange ‘DOWNLOAD MUSIC MANAGER’ button.
5.    After downloading, go to the installation file.
6.    Run installer file.
7.    Go with the prompts and install it.
Note: To install the Music Manager on your Mac, click and hold the Music Manager icon and drag it to the Application folder.
Steps to download the songs with Music Manager:
1.    Open the ‘Music Manager’ app.
2.    Enter the credentials of the Google account you use with Google Play Music.
3.    Select the ‘Download songs to my computer’ option.
4.    Click the ‘Continue/Next’ button.
5.    Select a folder to download the music.
6.    Select what you want to download, your library or purchased music.
7.    And click the ‘Start download’ button at the bottom.
That’s it! The selected music will begin to download to your computer.
Downloading songs via the Google Music website
1.    Open a browser.
2.    Go to “music.google.com.”
3.    Sign in with your Google account.
4.    Switch to ‘Music Library’ tab.
5.    Select a category (PLAYLISTS, ARTISTS, ALBUMS, SONGS, etc.) from the top.
6.    Select the track you want to download.
7.    Tap the ‘Vertical dotted’ icon.
8.    Select ‘Download’/Download Album.’
That’s it! If you didn’t get the option to download, may be the song is not available to download. Click the ‘Buy’ button to purchase the music.
